Admissions Process

At Connie Rothman School, we understand that finding the right school placement can be a complex and emotional journey, especially for families seeking the best support for a child with unique learning needs. We recognise how overwhelming the admissions process can sometimes feel, and we’re here to make it as smooth, respectful, and transparent as possible.

We welcome all enquiries and will work closely with you and your local authority to help determine the best placement for your child.

• Aged between 11-21 (we do also see students in years 5 & 6 looking to start in year 7)
• Has an EHCP or is under assessment for one

We’ll arrange a call to learn more about your child’s needs. We may request copies of any existing professional assessments.

Our SENCO team will review the information provided and advise within 7 days whether we believe we can meet your child’s needs. If so, we will invite you for a school tour and a chance to ask any questions.

To proceed, we will require an official consultation from your local authority so we can undertake a formal assessment. 

Your child will be invited for a 1 Day Trial, where they’ll be welcomed into the school to experience a typical day.

After the trial, two members of the admissions team will meet with you and your child to discuss the trial day, review the EHCP, and explore next steps.

Further trial days may be arranged to ensure we’re the right fit for your child.

If successful, we will send a formal placement offer to the relevant local authority.
